This fascinating house was started over 25 years ago by some of the original ‘Hippies’ in Golden Bay and has recently been restored and skillfully completed. It's a funky and fun design with all rooms on different levels. The house is perfectly oriented towards the sun and views.
The cosy feeling of the wooden interior with indoor/outdoor living and stunning sea and mountain views make it hard to leave this place. You can watch the ever-changing moods of the sea from the lounge, enjoy the sunsets from the large deck or soak in the outdoor tub under millions of stars.
This home is great for family holidays as there is space for everyone.

The standard price is for two people in a shared bed. There is an additional $30/night fee if you wish to use two separate beds.
Hippie House sleeps a maximum of four people (Main bed is a super king, second room has a queen bed). There is an $30/night additional fee for each extra person beyond two people.

Unfortunately the one nights stays aren't economical for us, but we still think it's amazing value compared to other properties. We have a brand new little fire installed now which is a lot more user friendly as well :) Just a note re milk, we do provide milk powder for tea and coffee as we don't want to use the small single use packaging that milk usually comes with and it avoids wastage.
