This tiny home has been finished to our exceptionally high McIntyre standard - the Tiny Greenie builds on our vision! Experience warmth and comfort this year in New Zealand’s first European style passive solar tiny house.
Perched high above Wainui Bay you'll experience sunsets over the inlet - the best yet. Surrounded by native bush and the silence that only a remote retreat can deliver.
Tiny Greenie is our latest in our Greenie line of future-thinking eco-homes that you really have to experience first-hand. With a floorspace of 40 square metres (including mezzanines), Tiny Greenie is about as big as tiny gets. This home is sitting on a sturdy dual-axel trailer and can be moved to a new vantage on a whim.

Where you'll sleep
Tiny Greenie sleeps up to four people in two spaces at each end of the house.

Queen Bed
Separate mezzanine above the kitchen - sleeps two in comfortable queen sized bed. Accessed via staircase.
Skylight above gives views of the night sky and surrounding windows overlook the bay. Has a privacy blind and an optional safety net for kids.

Booking Widget
How do I use the "Booking Widget" to make an online booking?
You use the "Booking Widget" to make an online booking. To get started you select your dates on the calendar and enter the number of guests. You'll then see your total price straight away, and can enter your details and credit card information to immediately complete your booking. Finally a confirmation email will be sent to your email.
Calendar
You can use the calendar to find dates that are available and suit you.
Today's date is marked with a circle. Dates that are not available for booking are crossed out. Dates that are available are highlighted with colour. Single night stays are not available. Minimum stay is two nights. Use the buttons at the top of the calendar to move between months.
Selecting Dates
Select the day you'd like to arrive by clicking or tapping on the calendar date or by entering a date in the arrival field. Next, select the day you'd like to depart by clicking or tapping on the calendar date or entering it in the field.
Completing Your Booking
Once you've selected valid dates and your number of guests, you'll see your total price. Click or tap the "Book" button to continue. A secure booking form will appear where you can enter your guest details like name, email address and phone number. Continue to enter your payment information.
Finally submit your credit card details to complete the booking process.
What's Next?
A confirmation will show to indicate that Golden Bay Hideaway has received your booking. A confirmation of your booking will be delivered to your email address.
What if I'm having issues with the online booking process?
Our intention is for the online booking process to be as simple and accessible as possible for all customers. However there is potential for some customers to encounter issues. Here are some considerations and tips in case you run into trouble.
Some older browser software and devices may not work correctly with our booking widget. If you run into problems with the booking process, try updating your browser and device operating system to the latest possible versions.
If you a presented with an error message then please note down the error description or take a screenshot. Please pass this along to us and our tech team can assist with fixing any issues for future customers.

The standard price is for two people in a shared bed. There is an additional $30/night fee if you wish to use two separate beds.
Tiny Greenie sleeps a maximum of four people (two queen beds). There is an $30/night additional fee for each extra person beyond two people.

We appreciate your feedback and business Barb, however it is a shame that you didn't raise these issues with us in person while here as we could have explained and hopefully made your stay less stressful, although we can't help a storm and strong winds unfortunately. There should be baking paper in the kitchen and there is a key to lock up right next to the door handle, so a quick call could have helped you locate those. No, we don't use sponges due to hygiene, in line with our environmental values we use high quality, Norwex products made from recycled materials. This reduces the chemicals required to clean and decreases drying time. Towels ‘feel’ different to cotton but are highly absorbent, fast drying and long lasting. By only making up beds that will be used by guests we help to keep our rates down and we believe they represent excellent value for money, given our location and the high performance passive house features, this is well explained in our listing descriptions. Composting, off grid systems can be a new and confronting experience for some guests however mostly people come away with a new appreciation for it's simplicity. Yip, we are passionate about recycling and encourage all our guests to participate in that process. We just think it's an awesome thing to do for the planet, rather than a chore that diminishes your departure. Neighbouring the Abel Tasman National Park, we are as accessible as any accomodation provider there is, the track starts just down the road and we can shuttle you right into the centre of the park to explore further. We do our best to provide an enjoyable and restful retreat and certainly believe that in terms of value for money our accommodations are exceptional. Our review rating says it all. Thanks for staying Anton. The mossies can be more prevalent at certain times of the year. Our suggestion for other guests is to close and spray the rooms with the provided fly spray before bed, and then wait 10 minutes before retiring and keep the insect screens closed for ventilation.
